A Cape Coast High Court has appointed an official liquidator to sell properties of Ghana Premier League club Ebusua Dwarfs to settle a two-decade-old debt to Great Liverpool FC.
The lower division club had dragged Dwarfs to court over the 1999 transfer of former player Patrick Villars.
The owner of Great Liverpool, Phillip Vincent Cann, took the matter to court after accusing the Cape Coast traditional club of snubbing him in the transfer of the former Ghana international.
On Monday, March 25, legal representatives of Mr Vincent Cann led by K.O. Amponsah Dadie swore to and filed an affidavit in court in support of an ex-parte motion for an official liquidator to be appointed.
After hearing from the plaintiff, the High Court appointed the Registrar General to the role.
“It is further ordered that the Official Liquidator lifts the Veil of Incorporation on the Respondent’s Company and attached their properties for sale to satisfy the debt,” the Court said on July 10, 2019.
