The Chair of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC), Jean Mensa, on Thursday, June 20 paid a courtesy call on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu.
The IG was joined by members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) for the meeting with the EC Chair.
The meeting is to strengthen the partnership between the Commission and the Ghana Police Service.
The two discussed reforms of the Commission since August, 2018 and the strategies put in place from now till the 2020 elections, 3news.com gathers.
A major topic of discussion was the performance of police officers deployed during each election.
Potential flashpoints during elections were also discussed, 3news.com can say.
Mrs Mensa was joined on the visit by deputy commissioners Samuel Tettey and Dr Eric Bosman Asare as well as a spokesperson, Sylvia Annor.
Among the members of POMAB who met the EC and her team were COP Yaagy Akuribah, COP Ken Yeboah, COP George Alex Mensah, DCOP Samuel Afeku, DCOP Aboagye Nyarko and ACP David Eklu.
