Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kpone Katamanso constituency, Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo has assured residents all the bad roads in the area will soon be a thing of the past.
The MP says he has heard the plight of residents there especially market women who ply the roads on daily basis and he is working to get them fixed.
Market women at a one-month old market in his area have complained about how difficult it is using the roads for their daily activities, especially since the rains set in.
At a Star-Ghana sponsored community engagement forum held by Media General with support from Danida, UKaid and the European Union, the women asked the municipal assembly to come to their aid.
But the MP for the area stated measures were being put in place to ensure that the roads are fixed for commuters. He said he will work together with the District Chief Executive of the area to have the minister of roads and highways attend to the needs of the people.
Earlier this year, the Kpone Katamanso Municipal directorate of the National Disaster Management Organization cautioned residents to prepare for the rainy season in flood prone areas including Zeenu, Sraha, Kpone and its environs.
The MP indicated that measures are being put in place to ensure that the constituencies does not record any flood casualties.
Onua FM’s Matem Mpumtuo Kpone Katamanso edition was held as part of a Mission Ghana project, a quarterly community engagement programme.
