Former Black Starlets coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin will handle the Ugandan national Under-17 team in their maiden campaign at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
The East Africans qualified from the Central-East Zone as winners after beating Ethiopia 3-1 in the final last year.
They will play in a familiar country, Tanzania, where they achieved last year’s feat.
The Federation of Ugandan Football Associations (FUFA) on Wednesday unveiled the former Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions gaffer as not only coach of the U-17s but the U-20s.
Uganda will play in Group A with hosts Tanzania, Nigeria and Angola.
They will camp in South Africa before heading to Dar-es Salaam.
The tournament begins from Sunday, April 14 to Sunday, April 28.
The semi-finalists will make it to this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in Brazil.
Fabin led Ghana into the quarter-finals at the 2017 edition held in India.
