Asante Kotoko brightened their chances of qualifying from the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup with a 3-0 home win over Zambia’s Nkana FC on Sunday.
Three first half goals were what the Porcupine Warriors needed to move to second in Group C though on same points with their opponents.
Sudan’s Al-Hilal beat ZESCO United 3-1 earlier in the day to move top of the group.
At a charged Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Fatawu Safiu opened the score for the home side in the fourth minute to send the crowd in frenzy.
Twenty minutes later Emmanuel Gyamfi doubled the lead and the next goal, the third, came within four minutes through Martin Antwi.
Kotoko will still stay home for their next encounter against the Sudanese.
That match will be played on Sunday, March 10.
