Some principal streets in Nigerian capital, Abuja were deserted and in a deafening silence hours after the Nigerian Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the postponement of the country’s Presidential Elections which was supposed to have been held on February 16, 2019.
INEC postponed the presidential election to Saturday, February 23, 2019 stating that it was due to some issues with logistics.

Hours after this announcement was made, very few people were seen stepping out of their homes, as most streets in the capital were spotted empty.
According to TV3 reporter, Komal Klutse who is in Abuja, major markets have also been closed.
Offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also been closed.
The Head Office of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was also spotted closed and empty.
