Week two of the 2018 Ghana’s Most Beautiful beauty pageant saw contestants project Ghana through tourism amongst other things peculiar to Ghana.
With ‘Tourism’ as the theme for the week, contestants were expected to market Ghana through its numerous tourist sites and rich culture.
The show kicked off with a performance from Ghanaian songstress, Sherifa Gunu who performed choreography with all ten contestants in the competition.
This was followed by Brong Ahafo Regional representative, Ohema who performed as a queen mother educating her subjects about the meaning of various Adinkra symbols.
She talked about the history behind the Adinkra symbols, its meaning and how cloths and other items with these symbols can be marketed to the international world.
On her part, Northern Regional representative, Nabia who performed as a bride to be, convinced her husband to have them spend their honeymoon time in Ghana.
Her presentation highlighted some hotels and resorts in the country, as well as some tourist sites they can visit as a couple.
Ashanti Regional representative, Afrah also performed as a student tourist educating her colleagues about some tourist sites across all regions in the country.
Upper West Regional representative, Nuo who acted as a movie producer, also highlighted the need to make use of some tourist sites as locations in movies, as well as use music from Ghanaian artistes as soundtracks for movies.
This she noted will sell Ghana to people outside the country who patronise these movies.
One after the other, all ten contestants sought to promote Ghanaian culture through food, hospitality, leisure as well as music and dance.
Naa from the Greater Accra Region emerged as the star performer for the night.
Two highest texters were announced and presented with items from sponsors of the show.
The show was crowned with yet another performance from songstress, Sheriffa Gunu.
TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant which is in its 12th season, aims at promoting culture through its weekly shows.
This year’s show which is under the catchphrase, “This is the Life” is no different, as it promises viewers and studio audience a weekly dose of education and excitement.
Ghana’s Most Beautiful airs on TV3 every Sunday at 8:00 pm, and is live on all social media platforms, and is streamed live on YouTube via TV3 Ghana and 3Xtra platforms.
