The Kwesi Appiah Foundation has received a donation worth GH¢180,000 from Ashanti Foam Factory (Ashfoam) Limited as part of their corporate social responsibility to support the foundation with its aim of helping old footballers.
Ashfoam has teamed up with the Black Stars head coach’s foundation to provide GH¢80, 000 annual financial packages for former national players who blazed the trail in their prime.
Some of these aged players who were present at the ceremony held at the offices of Ashfoam in Accra on Thursday included Willie Klutse, Alhaji Ibrahim Sunday, Rev Osei Kofi, Anas Seidu and Awuley Quaye Snr.
Fifty thousand Cedis wof the sponsorship package will go to Kwesi appiah as an ambassador and GH¢50,000 will be worth of products from Ashfoam. The products include furniture, towel, bedsheets and mattresses.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Foundation and Ashfoam promised old stars a monthly stipend each.
James Kwesi Appiah launched his foundation with the aim of helping and supporting retired and current footballers in the country.
The Foundation is a charitable one that primarily aims to help the development of retired sports personalities through financial assistance, medical aid and skill development.
Appiah set up the Foundation in May, 2017 and every month dedicates a portion of his salary to help its cause.
