A mobile money vendor in his late 30s was shot dead by suspected armed robbers at Asylum Down in Accra in the evening of Monday August 20, 2018.
The incident happened around 8pm while the man was preparing to close for the day.
The unknown gunmen allegedly attacked the vendor and in the process of struggling to take his money from him, shot him in the chest, on his right side.
The man who transacted his business opposite the Iran Clinic, has been running the business for some time now.
Residents within the vicinity are in a state of shock after the incident.
Michael Klugey is an eyewitness and he confirmed on Onua FM’s Yen Sempa on Tuesday hosted by Bright Kwasi Asempa that the vendor was shot in the chest.
He said the two men who were on a motorbike approached the vendor, shot him and made away with the day’s sales.
“The place is not dark and after the incident, four guys took him to Iran Clinic but the clinic could not help so a taxi driver took him” to a different hospital but he died, he explained.
