The Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr. David Zaawunya Kolbila, who was chased out of his office by some irate youth in Tamale on Monday, has been given access to his office.
The youth group had accused the CEO of causing “management crises”, claiming he “is virtually fighting every Director in the hospital”.

They also accused him of procurement infractions and diversion of medical supplies and consumables to his private clinic.
According to the group, its action was to prevent the hospital from “further deteriorating”.
But the police intervened later in the day to restore calm. But before then, the irate youth had driven the CEO away and locked up his office.
The Northern Regional Security Council led by the Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, however, led Dr. Kolbila to his office Tuesday and opened it for him.
On opening the office, the Regional Minister condemned the action of the youth, who are alleged to be a pro-NPP vigilante group Kandahar Boys.
He appealed to the staff to remain resolute and continue with their normal duties, assuring them the police are investigating the matter to bring the perpetrators of the act to book.
Salifu Saeed also mentioned there will be a 24-hour security surveillance at the Hospital to provide total security.
On his part, Dr. Kolbila was thankful to the Regional Security Council for the intervention and hinted the hospital will soon mount a security post to avert any similar future occurrences.
