Former Attorney General Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong and her successor, Gloria Akuffo, are among honourees at the 2018 GUBA Awards held in the UK.
The two were, however, decorated with the Outstanding Achievement Award.
GUBA celebrated the best of Ghanaian talent across board at the awards ceremony over the weekend.
The ceremony recognised and acknowledged the pioneers and forerunners of the Ghanaian community, including leaders and organisations at the top of their game.
The Awards highlighted the breath of talent and wide range of gifted Ghanaians globally and emphasised the significance of Ghanaians not only in the UK and Ghana, but also across the world.
This year’s GUBA Awards was graced by notable personalities including former president Jerry John Rawlings and was hosted by actor, Boris Kodjoe and radio and television host, Anita Erskine.
Mr Rawlings commended organisers of the Awards for recognising the effort of hardworking Ghanaians both home and abroad.
“The GUBA awards have been one of the few initiatives I have been following keenly. Any initiative that seeks to bring together and recognise the diverse cultural and economic potential of Ghanaians is one that should be embraced wholeheartedly by the Ghanaian community both home and abroad; and I am delighted that the Government of Ghana has over the past few years embraced this project and offered the needed moral support.”
Founder of the GUBA Enterprise Dentaa Amoateng noted, “We are delighted to be celebrating talented and exceptional Ghanaians as winners of the 2018 GUBA Awards.”
