The nominations for the 2018 BET Awards were revealed on Wednesday and for the first time in seven years no Ghanaian artiste was nominated.
There were earlier reports that Stonebwoy would get another nomination this year to equal compatriot Sarkodie but it didn’t happen.
This year’s category has seen some changes, resulting in the amalgamation of the BET Award for Best International Act-Africa and BET Award for Best International Act-UK into BET Award for Best International Act.
Eleven artistes were nominated.
There were three artistes each from UK and France and the rest from Africa – DR Congo, Nigeria and South Africa.
Ghanaian-born Stormzy real name Michael Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jnr is among the three UK artistes nominated. The others are Stefflon Don and J Hus.
Dadju, Niska and Booba are the French artistes nominated.
Davido and Tiwa Savage will rep Nigeria while Cassper Nyovest and Distruction Boyz rep SA.
Fally Ipupa is the sole contender from DR Congo.
The awards will be held on Sunday, June 24.
