The deputy Special Prosecutor-designate, Cynthia Jane Naa- Korshie Lamptey, has assured Ghanaians she would remain resolute and work to maintain her unblemished integrity built over the years when given the nod.
At her vetting by the Appointments Committee of Parliament Wednesday, she backed her proven integrity by stating she has never for once taken bribe in her legal career spanning almost three decades.
“You know what, I have never ever attempted. I don’t even think about it, even if they have brought it [bribe] I wouldn’t even have seen it to collect it”, she proudly stated.

As required under the Section 16 of the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act 2017, the deputy special prosecutor must be of “high moral character and proven integrity”, a quality the North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa sought to know if the nominee deems herself fit.
Answered in the affirmative, she suggested that if she were not a person of high moral and proven integrity, she would not have been nominated in the first place.
In her estimation, her nomination in itself is an endorsement of her qualified personality.
“Mr. Chairman, he’s just stated that the person should be of high moral character and proven integrity, so straight away that tells you I have, otherwise, I wouldn’t have been nominated”, she stated.
She said she is and will continue to be so when she is approved.
“And I do not think having had these qualities and have been brought here…So I assure you, you’ll still get me as I am which enabled me to be nominated”, she assured.
The Committee is expected to present a report on the vetting of Ms. Lamptey to the floor of the House for the MPs to approve her nomination or otherwise.
She has stated she will only resign her post at the Registrar General’s Department if the her nomination is approved by parliament
